Joseph Braxton Thomas, 54, of the 3000 block of Woodrow St., died Jan. 22, 1996. Mr. Thomas, a retired cook, was a native of Portsmouth.
Survivors include his mother, Goldie Mae Wood Thomas of Chesapeake; a daughter, Tina Golden of Chesapeake; a son, Chris Thomas; three sisters, Katherine Matthews and JoAnn Price of Chesapeake, Mary J. Thorne of Suffolk; four brothers, James L. Thomas of Chesapeake, John E. Thomas and George L. Thomas of Portsmouth, Angelo Thomas of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tom Potter. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
