Garland Rudolph Hanes, 81, of the 4100 block of Deep Creek Blvd., died Jan. 25, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Hanes, a native of Portsmouth, was retired from Portsmouth Gas Company. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Tidal Wave Masonic Lodge (NU)273, Port Norfolk Royal Arch Chapter 36, and Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Sears Hanes; a daughter, Shirley Warren of Windsor; two granddaughters, Rebecca Warren and Jennifer Neal; a great-grandson, Travis Warren Neal.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Kevin Wilson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
