VINCENT J. DORGAN SR.

Vincent J. Dorgan Sr., CPA, 94, of the 1200 block of Stockley Gardens, died Jan. 27, 1996, at his home.

Mr. Dorgan was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Beegan Dorgan, and his twin brother, Bernard F. Dorgan, M.D.

He was a 1929 graduate of Northeastern University in New Haven, Conn. He belonged to the Edward Douglas White Council of the Knights of Columbus, having joined the Knights in 1919.

He worked for the CIA from 1947 until his retirement in 1963. Vincent was known as the ``Mayor of Madison Street'' by neighbors and friends in Arlington, Va. He was a founding and active member of St. Ann Parish until he moved to Norfolk in June 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Sister Virginia M. Dorgan, R.S.H.M., of New York City; two sons, Vincent J. Dorgan Jr. of Alexandria and Rev. John J. Dorgan of Norfolk.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 7 p.m. Rev. John J. Dorgan will officiate.

A Wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Murphy's Funeral Home, Arlington. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Arlington at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Fairfax Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Center of International Learning, 257 W. 91st St., (NU)3E, New York, N.Y. 10024; or to the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen Ministry, 520 Graydon Ave., Norfolk 23507. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling all local arrangements.
