Florence M. Garris, 70, of the 200 block of Bedford Court, died Jan. 26, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
Mrs. Garris was the widow of Robert E. Garris. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Dianna Garris, and a sister, Carlteen Valentine. She was a member of First Baptist Church Gilmerton in Chesapeake.
Survivors include three daughters, Blondell M. Copeland, Edna C. Elliott and Velma Griffin; three sons, John E. Garris, Louis M. Garris and Lester G. Garris; six grandsons; eight granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Gay M. Garris and Vivian Garris; three sons-in-law, Jackson Copeland Sr., Junius D. Elliott and Carlton Griffin Jr.; and a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at First Baptist Church Gilmerton, (Shell Road), Chesapeake, by the Rev. Edward Smith. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Hampton.
The family will be at 917 Cambridge Ave., Portsmouth. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
