LORENZA A. CREEKMUR SR.

Lorenza A. Creekmur Sr., 73, of the 200 block of Choate St., died Jan. 26, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Mr. Creekmur, a retired civil service employee, worked for the U.S. Civil Service Commission for 10 years. He was a native of Norfolk County and member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was a senior choir member and member of the Male Chorus. Mr. Creekmur was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie M. Creekmur; two daughters, Vanessa D. McCall of Portsmouth and D'Angela C. Campbell of Jacksonville, N.C.; three sons, Lorenza A. Creekmur Jr. of Chesapeake, J. Carroll Creekmur of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Darryl Creekmur of Portsmouth; three stepdaughters, Rosetta Wadley of Chesapeake and Catherine Reynolds and Gloria Gatling, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Linwood L. Creekmur of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jacquelyn C. Beverly. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Mount Carmel Baptist Church by the Rev. E.T. Knight Sr. Burial with military honors will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
