Norfolk mayor Paul Fraim has been named the 1996 recipient of the Bud Metheny Award, given annually by Old Dominion University for contributions that have helped area baseball.
Fraim will be honored Friday at the ``Meet the Stars'' banquet, which kicks off ODU's weekend baseball clinic. The clinic features former major league baseball player Steve Garvey and Norfolk Tides manager Bobby Valentine.
Tickets for the banquet at the Omni Waterside are $50 per person. Tickets for Saturday's clinic at the ODU field house - with sessions at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - are $5 per person. by CNB
