It is inspiring to read that the Joy Fund reached a total of $277,650 on Jan. 12. This means to me that thousands of people and businesses, clubs and organizations, schools and churches and the military wanted to share the joys of Christmas.
This outpouring of generosity is not due to pressure or phone calls or advertising.
It is significant that the public has complete confidence in the integrity of The Virginian-Pilot to handle this money wisely.
