CAREER TRACK

ACCOUNTING

Geraldine M. Giambrone was named an associate at Strickland & Jones in Norfolk. She will practice in the areas of taxation, auditing and general accounting services. She was formerly with the firm of Roy F. Anderson in Virginia Beach.

Wendy Su Bookhout, a certified public accountant, has rejoined Brock and Beasley in Virginia Beach. She will concentrate in the areas of small business and individual taxation. She was formerly with Ernst and Young in Norfolk.

BANKING

Geraldine S. Sherrill was named assistant vice president at Jefferson National Bank at the Great Bridge office. She was previously administrative officer and office manager. She has been with the bank since 1978.

The Bank of Hampton Roads has made the following promotions: Cynthia Connor was promoted from office manager to assistant vice president at the St. Paul's Boulevard location in Norfolk. Robert G. Culpepper was promoted from loan officer to assistant vice president at the Greenbrier office in Chesapeake. Amy K. Musacchio was named assistant vice president at the Greenbrier office. She was formerly a construction loan officer. Tiffany K. Glenn was named accounting officer at the Greenbrier location and Francine P. Whitfield was named office manager at the Northwest office in Chesapeake. She was formerly assistant manager.

HEALTH CARE

Leslie S. Hodeen has joined NDC Medical Center in Norfolk as an adult nurse practitioner. She was formerly an adult nurse practitioner for the Norfolk Health Department and received her master's in Nursing Science/Family Nurse Practitioner tract from Old Dominion University in 1995.

HOSPITALITY

Christine ``Chris'' Epperson was named vice president in charge of operations at the Virginia Diner in Wakefield. She has held numerous positions with the diner and has been with the restaurant since 1988.

ORGANIZATIONS

Elizabeth O'Malley was named director of development for the Arthritis Foundation, Hampton Roads branch. She will be responsible for special events and commercial sponsorship. Prior to this, she was the marketing/special events director for the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department of the Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, Calif. and the Norfolk Naval Station.

Also, Betty M. Bell was appointed program coordinator for the Arthritis Foundation. Prior to this, she was the marketing administrative coordinator at the Norfolk Naval Station's recreation department.

Barry DuVal, mayor of Newport News, was appointed to the Peninsula Airport Commission, operator of Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport. DuVal replaces Martin Williams, who was recently elected to the Virginia Senate.

REAL ESTATE

Larry E. Schwenker was named vice president of property management at Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler in Norfolk. Previously, he worked as the senior property manager with Robinson Sigma Commercial Real Estate in Norfolk.

Michael J. Longmore was named senior property manager of Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler. In this position, he will oversee the retail management of several shopping centers in the Mid-Atlantic area and develop new business in the North Carolina market. He was previously with Steven D. Bell & Co. in Greensboro, N.C., where he managed five shopping malls in the Southeast.

Lawrence E. Dunn was named chief financial officer at Vacation Sales Associates in Virginia Beach, a subsidiary of The Breeden Co. He will be responsible for accounting, finance and administration. Prior to this, he was controller for Breeden.

Charles B. Flowe was named senior vice president of The Breeden Co. in Virginia Beach. He will be responsible for the accounting and collections departments. He has been with the company 18 years and has held the positions of vice president-controller, collections and leasing administrator and property management administrator.

TAX SERVICE

Keith Alessi was named to the board of directors of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service in Virginia Beach. He fills the position left vacant by Daniel Grunberg. Alessi was president of Farm Fresh Inc. from 1988 to 1992. Since 1994, he has been employed by Farm Fresh in a variety of capacities including vice chairman, secretary, treasurer and chief financial officer. He is also a treasurer and director of Drug Emporium Inc. and a director of New Cort Holdings Inc.
