MUSEUMS SEE SLIGHT INCREASE IN VISITORS

Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center recorded greater attendance in 1995, with paid visits to the two history museums totaling 602,329. Jamestown saw its paid visitation increase 12 percent to 438,336 people. Yorktown Victory Center had 163,993 paid visitors, up 11 percent from 1994. Admission revenue for the two museums was $2.8 million, up 19 percent. The traditional summer family travel months had the strongest impact on year-end results. Jamestown saw an increase of 23 percent during the summer, and Yorktown had 17 percent more visitors. (Staff) by CNB
