Mary Thompson Surles, 94, died Monday, Jan. 29, 1996, in a Norfolk convalescent center.
Mrs. Surles was the wife of the late Clarence M. Surles. She retired after 12 years as the secretary of Henry Clay Hofheimer. She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, John R. Thompson Sr. of Norfolk; niece, Sallie T. Bryant of Virginia Beach; three nephews, John R. Thompson Jr., James H. Thompson, both of Alexandria, Va., and Henry F. Thompson Jr. of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mathews, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Park Place Baptist Church.
