Cheryl Summers Cooper, 35, died Friday, Jan. 26, 1996, in Pocatello, Idaho, as the result of an automobile accident.
Cheryl was a lifelong resident of Chesapeake until three months ago when the family moved to Chubback, Idaho. She was a member of Avalon Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Philip L. Cooper of Chubback; a son, Christopher L. Cooper of Chubback; her mother and stepfather, Patricia A. Remley and James Remley of Chesapeake; five sisters, Connie Viers, Carol Dillon, Cindy Nichols, and Cathy Lowery of Chesapeake and Caron Summers of Petersburg; an aunt, Prudence Waynne of Chesapeake; an uncle, Ronald Harris of Chesapeake; 11 nieces and nephews; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chaplain and Mrs. Carl L. Cooper of Norfolk. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, James V. Summers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Jimmy A. Bennett, minister of Avalon Church of Christ. Burial will take place in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. to receive friends. Memorial gifts may be made to the Building Fund of Avalon Church of Christ, 844 Woodstock Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464.
