Carlton Louis Smart, 60, of the 1000 block of Blackwater Road, died Jan. 30, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Smart, a retired hotel, restaurant and ship equipment architect, was a native of South Norfolk. He was a member of Gospel Hall, Chesapeake.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Dillow Smart; a son, Don D. Smart of Chesapeake; a sister, Lillian Weber of Las Vegas, Nev.; a half-sister, Helen Lippincott of Portsmouth; two granddaughters; and numerous cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park by Mr. Richard Todd. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the residence at all other times.
