Mr. John Alfred Taylor, 92, of West Queen Street, died Sunday Jan. 28, 1996, in the Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Taylor, a native of Monticello, N.Y., was the son of the late William John and Clara Avery Taylor and the husband of the late Nell Stout Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a retired banker with the Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York and a member of the Edenton United Methodist Church.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Edward ``Joan'' Timm of Washington, N.C.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Beaver Hill Cemetery by Dr. Stan Smith. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Edenton United Methodist Church, 225 Virginia Road, Edenton, N.C. 27932. The Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
