A stalled car led to a six-car collision on the westbound lanes of Interstate 264 Tuesday morning, injuring one man and slowing traffic for two hours, a state police spokeswoman said.
The chain-reaction collisions occurred at 5:36 a.m. just west of the Military Highway exit when a vehicle ran out of gas, police said. Another vehicle slowed to assist the driver, who was not identified. A third car then crashed into the second, which, in turn, hit the stalled car.
Somehow, police said, three other cars crashed into the others.
The accidents shut down three lanes. State police cleared the area by 7:38 a.m.
Police said there was one minor injury. The driver of the stalled car was charged with driving with a suspended license.
