DOLLY R. LESTER

Dolly R. ``Ya Ya'' Lester, 84, of General Delivery, Pocahontas, Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1996, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1911, in Boissevain, Va., the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Shupe Jennings. Mrs. Lester had been a resident of Pocahontas most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God in Abbs Valley, Va., and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lester, and a daughter, Rhetha Cooper.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Lester of Baltimore, and Buddy Lester of Norfolk; seven daughters, Mary Williams of Hagerstown, Md., Nettie Poindexter of Virginia Beach, Audrey Fisher of Morrisville, Pa., Nancy Johnson of New Castle, Del., Bonnie Bolen of Roanoke, Va., Connie Poindexter of Abingdon, Va., and Sally Hess of Abbs Valley, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Phipps of Morrisville, Pa., and Donna Bucchi of Hagerstown; 28 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God in Abbs Valley, with the Rev. Frank Stanley and the Rev. Darrell Hunley officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call at the Church of God in Abbs Valley today between the hours of 7 to 9 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is in charge of arrangements.
