Alvie Woods, 79, a native of Monticello, Ky., died Jan. 31, 1996.
Mr. Woods was retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service. He was a U.S. naval veteran of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline S. Woods; three sons, Alvin, Billy and David; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Temple Baptist Church by the Rev. Allen Dooley. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church.
