For the third consecutive year, a Dare County middle school program has been selected to be highlighted at the State Middle Schools Conference.
Manteo Middle School is this year's honored school. It will make a presentation at the Middle School Association's 21st annual conference, ``Featured Attractions: Schools in the Middle,'' March 18-20 in Greensboro, on its approach to flexible scheduling. Cape Hatteras School was honored last year, and First Flight Middle was honored the year before that.
``Being flexible often means being creative and doing things out of the ordinary,'' Principal Bobby Hudspeth said in the entry to the association. He said his school learned to ``prioritize and develop scheduling techniques that reinforce and promote student needs while maintaining the dignity of the middle school program.'' by CNB
