James Michael ``Jim'' Farrell, 40, of Route 2, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1996, in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.
Mr. Farrell was born in Rhode Island. He was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father, James Gerald Farrell.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Ann Ackerman Farrell; two daughters, Amanda Lea Farrell and Laural Ann Farrell; two sons, Robert Allan Farrell and Patrick Avery Farrell, all of the home; his mother, Mary Lou Hartman Farrell of Norfolk; two sisters, Mary Ann Caughlin of Braselton, Ga., and Theresa Brown of Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, Thomas Farrell and William Farrell, both of Norfolk, and Paul Farrell of Chesapeake.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Reynoldson Baptist Church by the Rev. Billy Presley. Following the service the body will be cremated and the ashes will be scattered in West Virginia. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
