Raymond S. Smith, 78, of the 8000 block of West Glen Road, died Jan. 31, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Smith, a retired machinist, worked for General Motors for 22 years. He was a native of Jersey City, N.J., and an Army veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post (NU)327 and a former member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Spanarkel Smith; three daughters, Barbara, Carol and Janice; two sisters; two brothers; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
