Ethel Blumenthal, 74, died Feb. 1, 1996.
Mrs. Blumenthal was a native of Norfolk. She was the widow of Mr. Myer Blumenthal. She was a member of B'Nai Israel Synagogue and its Sisterhood; Hadassah; and Hebrew Ladies Charities.
Survivors include one daughter, Esta Gladstone and her husband, Kenneth, of Springfield, Va.; two sons, Dr. David Blumenthal and his wife, Marlene of Alexandria, Va., Dr. Barry Blumenthal and his wife, Jan, of Cary, N.C.; one sister, Ruth Leibowitz of Baltimore; one brother, Dr. Melvin Heiffer of Rockville, Md.; and nine grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon on today in Mikro Kodesh cemetery by Rabbi Yosef Friedman and Rabbi Israel Bornstein. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Hebrew Academy, Beth Sholom Home, or to the B'Nai Israel Synagogue.
