Linda M. Lewis, of 20 Elm Ave., daughter of Vivian Jones and the late Fred D. McLaruin Jr., expired this life on Jan. 31, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
She loved modern dance, styling hair, writing poetry, and studying the Bible. Before she became ill, she was a good homemaker.
Cherishing her memory are her parents, Vivian Jones; stepfather, Monzell Jones of Portsmouth; two daughters, Darteka and Darnica Lewis; son, Daronn Lewis, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, DeBona Moses, Mildred Waters, Crystal Wolfe of Portsmouth; two brothers, Earl Lewis Jr. of Hawaii, Charles Lewis of Portsmouth; brother-in-law, Samuel Moses of Norfolk; grandparents, Samuel and Mildred Pierce of Portsmouth, Rosa Mae McLaurin of Fayetteville, N.C.; aunts, Mae Betha, Dorothy Dozier, Mittie Pearson of Fayetteville, N.C., Rosebud Wright of Portsmouth; great-aunt, Pearline Williams; uncles, Leon Wright, James Wright and Percell Williams of Portsmouth; numerous nieces, nephews, two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and a host of cousins and friends.
The family will be at 20 Elm Ave., Portsmouth. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1000 County St., Portsmouth. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
