BENJAMIN WILLIAMS JR.

Benjamin ``Bennie'' Williams Jr., 73, of the 2600 block of Markham St., died Feb. 2, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.

He was retired after 34 years from N.N.S.Y. He was a native of Portsmouth and a member of St. John Baptist Church, where he was joint chairman of the usher board, Leader of Prayer and Praise Service, and was superintendent of Sunday school. He was a member of Post (NU)190 American Legion, Alpha and Omega Lodge of Masons (NU)46. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice M. Williams; two sons, Milton Goodman and Kenneth Goodman; three sisters, Ella M. Williams, June Brown, Roberta Melton; two brothers, Wilson Williams and Willie Williams; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Linwood Johnson III in St. John Baptist Church. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
