CHESTER A. HARDY

Chester A. Hardy, 63, of Don Drive, died Feb. 2, 1996 in a local hospital.

Mr. Hardy was born in Trenton, N.J., and had retired as a locksmith from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop (NU)64. He was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Esther W. Hardy, of Norfolk; three sons, Rev. Paul Hardy and his wife Suzie, of Mexico City, Mexico, Timothy Hardy of Manteca, Calif., and John Hardy and his wife, Gayle of New Bern, N.C.; his stepfather Z.R. Jones and his wife, Ma Bea of Norfolk; a sister, Doris Schafer of Portsmouth; a brother, Randy Jones of Bowie, Md.; and five grandchildren, Paul II, Melissa, Alicia, Tami and Emmalee. He was preceded in death by Tiffany Hardy.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel with the Revs. Paul Hardy, George Sweet and Terry Beck officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. today.
