Shawn Richard Butler, 24, died Feb. 1, 1996, in Norfolk.
Mr. Butler was born in Patuxent River, Md. and was a self employed satellite installer with Tracker Vision Satellites Inc. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Butler of Virginia Beach; his mother and step-father, Donna and Captain Dan Parker USN (Ret.) of Virginia Beach; his father, Bobby Gene Butler of Covington, Ind.; a sister, Stephanie Lee Parker of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Robert Paul Butler of Virginia Beach, Jeffery Stephen Butler and his wife, Suzanne of Chesapeake and Dennis Michael Butler of Chesapeake; his maternal grandparents, Robert H. and Mercer Oliver of Chesapeake; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker of Savannah, Ga.; and a niece, Maggan Lee Butler of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel with Father Daniel Klem officiating. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
