George Kinsley ``Hamp'' Bell, 58, of the 1800 block of Greenleaf Drive, died Jan. 31, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was a retired packer for Redbell Moving Storage, where he had worked for 10 years. He had been retired from there for 15 years. He was a native of Norfolk.
He is survived by eight daughters, Patricia Jordan, Dale Goodman, Darcell Fox, Angela Taylor, Felicia Taylor, Barnita Taylor, Crystal Taylor, and Jackie Taylor, all of Norfolk; four sons, Anthony Goodman, Tony Barron and Dennis Taylor, all of Norfolk, and Darrell Taylor of Norfolk; four sisters, Ruth Johnson, Catherine Smith and Clarice Bell, all of Chesapeake, and Shirley Powell of Norfolk; three brothers, James Herbert Bell of Los Angeles, Joseph Bell of Norfolk and Oscar Bell of Chesapeake; 21 grandchildren; a very dear friend, Thelma Taylor; aunt, Eliza Cooper of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Fannie Watson and John Marshall Bell.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Monday by the Rev. Thomas J. Hart in St. Mark United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 1907 Greenleaf Drive, Norfolk, Monday at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
