Hilda L. Banks, 72, of the Lake Shores section of the Bayside Borough, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was a native of Arapahoe, N.C. She was a member of Diamond Springs Christian Church and was a deacon of the church.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Banks; a son, Michael Banks of Norfolk; a daughter, Karen Loughran of Hawaii; a brother, Walter Banks of Arapahoe; three sisters, Clara Eldridge of Arapahoe, Dorcas Brinson of Arapahoe, Mary Propey of New Bern, N.C.; and a grandson, Chris Conley of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by Pastor Phil Holwager. The family will be at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Children's Performance Wordshop, 633 10th St., Suite 104, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451, in memory of Hilda L. Banks. The body will be taken to Pollock, Wells and Best Funeral Home in New Bern for services and burial. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.
