CHESTER A. HARDY

Chester A. Hardy, 63, of Don Drive, died Feb. 2, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mr. Hardy was born in Trenton, N.C., and had retired as a locksmith from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop (NU)64. He was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Esther W. Hardy of Norfolk; three sons, the Rev. Paul Hardy and his wife, Suzie, of Mexico City, Mexico, Timothy Hardy of Manteca, Calif., and John Hardy and his wife, Gayle, of New Bern, N.C.; his stepfather, Z.R. Jones, and his wife, Ma Bea, of Norfolk; a sister, Doris Schafer of Portsmouth; a brother, Randy Jones of Bowie, Md.; and five grandchildren, Paul II, Melissa, Alicia, Tami and Emmalee. He was preceded in death by Tiffany Hardy.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, with the Revs. Paul Hardy, George Sweet and Terry Beck officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
