Annie Sue Harrell Chappell, 81, of Route 1, died Feb. 4, 1996 in a nursing home.
A native of Gates County, she was the widow of Cleve Chappell Sr. She was a member of Hobbsville Baptist Church and a retired restaurant owner.
Surviving are three sons, Cleve Chappell Jr. of Gates, Carl Chappell of Gatesville and Bobby Chappell of Suffolk; two brothers, Earl Harrell Sr. and Aubrey ``Peter'' Harrell, both of Gatesville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Harrell Funeral Home Chapel, Gatesville, by the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Burial will be in Gatesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
