Gleason Ralph Widener Jr., 39, of the 2500 block of Joshua Lane, died Feb. 3, 1996.
Mr. Widener was born in Portsmouth and was a Baptist. He was a heavy equipment operator with Whit Williams Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Diane M. Widener; two sons, Gleason R. Widener III and Kevin J. Widener, both of Suffolk; his mother and stepfather, Peggy Ann Moser and Robert L. Moser of Chesapeake; his father and stepmother, Gleason R. Widener Sr. and Ruby S. Widener of Florida; two sisters, Debra L. Blount and Tammy D. Broadbent; two stepsisters, Gail Parr and Susie Murden; grandmother, Emma M. Lewis of Chesapeake; a brother, James B. Widener of Chesapeake; and a stepbrother, Randall Smith of Florida.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. David Jendrey. Burial will be in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at other times at the home of Miles and Barbara Carr, 2512 Joshua Lane.
