Sadie Williamson Gatling, 101, died Feb. 4, 1996, in Chesapeake.
She was a native of Norfolk and was the widow of William T. Gatling Sr. She was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Chesapeake.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen G. Hendrix of Suffolk; a son, William T. Gatling Jr. of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Lillian G. Harmon and Loraine G. Fick.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednessay in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Albert A. Peverall and the Rev. Paul W. Parker. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
