Olvier Winston Cahoon, 75, of the 400 block of Robin Road, died Feb. 5, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was retired as an engineering test director from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 35 years. He was also employed at Q.E.D. for seven years. He was a member of Lee Memorial Baptist Church and he was a past master of Churchland Masonic Lodge (NU)276, member of Mt. Horeb Royal Arch Chapter (NU)11 and of Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, he was a past and present patron of Ester Chapter (NU)37; Order of the Eastern Star. He was a native of Fairfield, N.C., and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Edna S. Cahoon; daughter, Dawn C. Perry and husband, Tom Perry of Portsmouth; son, Winston Nelson Cahoon of Chesapeake; two sisters, Ardie C. Denson of Rocky Mount, N.C., Opal Weatherly of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three brothers, James Ray Cahoon and Archie L. Cahoon, both of Portsmouth, and Robert B. Cahoon of Fairfield, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Scott T. Perry and Monica D. Perry.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by Dr. Ray O. Jones in Lee Memorial Baptist Church with Masonic rites. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, today where an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to Lee Memorial Baptist Church, P.O.
