Leander Taylor, of the 200 block of Dillon Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996.
A native of Green County N.C., he was a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach where he served on the usher board.
He is survived by his wife, Nettie V. Taylor; two daughters, Mirrian T. Mason of Virginia Beach and Yvonne Yelverton of Fremont, N.C.; two sons, Issac L. Taylor of Irvington, N.J., and Hilton L. Strickland of South Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Islean Cheatham of Richmond, Va.; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. Rev. O.L. Cromwell II will preside over the service at New Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
