CHARLES M. SIMONS

Charles M. Simons, of the 1200 block of Commerce St., died Feb. 2, 1996, in Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk. He was a native of Norfolk County, Va.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Simons; daughter, Lavenious Simons of Maryland; stepdaughter, Tonya Milton of Chesapeake; three sisters, DeLillian Jones of Chesapeake, Patricia Newbi of Norfolk and Argie Etheridge of Poplar Branch, N.C.; six brothers, Claude L. Simons of Merno Valley, Calif., Milford Simons and Joseph Simons of Norfolk, Curnes Simons and Earl Simons of Chesapeake, and Eural C. Simons of Maryland; a grandson; five aunts, Evelyn Simons and Virginia Sivels of Chesapeake, Agenora Case of Poplar Branch, N.C., Delma Gallop of Norfolk, and Hazel Scruggs of Jersey City, N.J.; an uncle, Albert Simons of Chesapeake; eight sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. John C. Smith in New Weeping Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Fentress. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will be at 4113 Reid St., Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home in charge.
