CLATIE GARRETT

Clatie Garrett, of 900 Flintfield Crescent, died Feb. 6, 1996, in her home.

She was born in Windsor, N.C., and was a member and deaconess of Centennial Baptist Church, Portsmouth. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas B. Garrett Sr.; four daughters, Peggy Cooper of Portsmouth, Geri Brooks of San Diego, Calif., Janice Cooper-Croom of Chesapeake and Lillian Bond of Pleasantville, N.J.; a stepdaughter; a son, George B. Cooper of Temple, Texas; two stepsons; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; an aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral service will be held Friday at noon in Centennial Baptist Church, Portsmouth, with the Rev. Robert L. Addison Jr. presiding. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. A viewing in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at 10 a.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
