SAMUEL KOVACS

Samuel Kovacs, 81, of the 3300 block of Hungarian Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at his residence.

Mr. Kovacs was born in Princess Anne County, Va., the son of the late Charles A. and Aranka Harvot Kovacs. He was retired from Civil Service after 31 years of service with Navy Public Works Center. Mr. Kovacs was a Catholic.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Powers and Rose Talbott, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Samuel Edward Kovacs of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Ethel Woody of Virginia Beach, Elizabeth Marks of Chesapeake, Goldie Davis and Rosie Laytay, both of California; a brother, Emery Kovacs of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday Feb. 9, 1996, in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ralph Horne officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Jean Powers. Memorial donations may be made to the Aileen Parsons Scholarship Fund, c/o Blackwater Baptist Church, 6000 Blackwater Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23457. Twiford Funeral Home is in charge.
