H. CECIL VAUGHAN

Henry Cecil Vaughan, 87, of 135 Country Club Road, died Feb. 6, 1996, in his home.

He was a native and lifetime resident of Southampton County and was the son of the late Hillary Lee and Jane Gardner Vaughan. He was a lifetime member of Sycamore Baptist Church, the Men's Bible Class, and was a former deacon. He was a charter member of the Forks of the River Ruritan Club, and a member of the Woodmen of the World.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Louise Darden Vaughan; two daughters, Martha Barnes and her husband, Jim, of Franklin, and Barbara Vaughan of Richmond; two granddaughters, Rebecca Theuer and her husband, Stephen, of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Anne Eason and her husband, Paul, of Chesapeake; three great-grandchildren, Catherine, Emily and William Theuer. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Frances Marshall of Richmond; and a brother, Ashley Vaughan of Sedley; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Emily V. Howell and Jessie V. Darden; and one brother, Leroy Vaughan.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Sycamore Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Gifts and Memorials Committee of Sycamore Baptist Church, 32018 Sycamore Church Road, Franklin, VA 23851. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
