A Portsmouth man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of 33-year-old Robert H. Fayton, who was found shot in a van last summer, police spokeswoman Amber Whittaker said Wednesday.
Rodriquez Lavelle Johnson, 21, of the 1300 block of Highland Ave., was charged with murder and was being held in the Portsmouth City Jail, Whittaker said.
Fayton, formerly of the 1700 block of Joplin Lane in Virginia Beach, was found slumped in the driver's seat of a 1983 black Chevrolet van July 5. The van was in a parking lot of a post office in the 3500 block of Towne Point Road.
