Just as Falcon Cable was preparing to restore service to all its customers after a weekend outage, a computer malfunction Wednesday once again cut service to all of the company's 7,300 customers. ``We've been working around the clock to get everyone restored and this is real disappointing to us,'' said Jack Edwards, regional manager.
He said the initial outage was caused by a power surge early Saturday that scrambled the company's computer database. Over the past several days, technicians had restored most of the information, slowing returning service.
``Then the computer system crashed again,'' Edwards said.
He said technicians will try to restore service simultaneously to all customers this morning. But only those who leave their cable boxes connected will be brought back on.
Customers who do disconnect will have to have their service restored one at a time, and only after they notify the company that they are off line.
Edwards said all customers will be credited for the outage. by CNB
