RESCUED AND SERVED - BY MANY

How much money would it take to get me out of my 15 layers of covers to go out into the driving sleet and rain and climb up into an ice-ladened Virginia Power repair bucket at 3 a.m. to repair downed lines to restore power for some spoiled ninney like me? THERE'S NOT ENOUGH! Yet I witnessed that not once but several times over the past several days.

Not only that; I saw my poor newspaper person sliding around my neighborhood trying to deliver the same ninney's newspaper at 5:30 a.m.!

And then, to my amazement, I received mail!

What is this world coming to? Can it be that there actually is concern for humanity out there? Can it be that the work ethic is not so horrible these days? Can it be that our power bills, newspaper fees and 32-cent stamps actually do buy us something?

I am grateful to Virginia Power, Mr. Postman, Mr. Newspaperman, fire-department personnel and police-department personnel for coming to this ninney's rescue.
