Matthew C. Owens, of the 600 block of Rosemount Road, died Feb. 6, 1996.
He was a retired mechanic for Oceana Naval Base and a native of Princess Anne County. He was a member of Union Baptist Church Kempsville, Virginia Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora Owens; three daughters, Delphine Rouse of Virginia Beach, Sandra Owens of Norfolk, and Jaunita Hardy of Chesapeake; son, Charles C. Owens Sr. of Virginia Beach; sister, Isabell Cason of Virginia Beach; three stepsisters, Crystal Owens, Kenya Wilson and Julia Owens, all of Statesville, N.C.; stepbrother, Darryl Owens of Statesville; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Charles A. Vinson in Union Baptist Church Kempsville. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
