EXECUTIVE TO SEEK BEACH SCHOOL BOARD SEAT

Ben A. Krause is the first person to file to run for the Virginia Beach School Board.

The 53-year-old investment executive will run for the Lynnhaven borough seat held by Karen O. O'Brien. Krause was treasurer of Kids First, an organization that unsuccessfully ran a slate of candidates during the last election.

The filing deadline for those interested in running is March 5.

Information packets that include the necessary forms and petitions to run, can be obtained by calling the state Board of Elections at 1-800-552-9745.

The election is May 7.
