JAMES E. JENKINS SR.

James Edward ``King'' Jenkins Sr., 66, of the 5400 block of Sandpiper Lane, died Feb. 6, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.

Mr. Jenkins, a roofer, worked for American Sheet Metal for 12 years. He was a native of Norfolk County and a member of New Bethel Church of Christ Disciples, Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret D.W. Jenkins; three daughters, Emma Jean Wilson of Wilmington, Del., Angelina Byrd of Virginia Beach and Valerie K. Gray of Norfolk; two sons, James E. Jenkins Jr. and Anthony Keith Wilson, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Golden Jones of Norfolk, Ruth Brun of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a favorite son-in-law, James L. Gray; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Osie Sharpe.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in New Bethel Church of Christ Disciples by Elder Proctor Freeman. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery. The family will be at 5462 Sandpiper Lane for the procession. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
