Edna Held Chovitz, 87, of the 7000 block of Glenroie Ave., died Feb. 9, 1996, at her residence.
Mrs. Chovitz was a native of Baltimore, Md., and a resident of Norfolk for most of her life. She was the widow of Samuel Chovitz. She was a member of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk, its Sisterhood and Hadassah.
Survivors include her children, Trudy Waranch and her husband, Martin, Stuart Held and his wife, Mickey, all of Virginia Beach, Mindy Futterman and her husband, Ralph, of Norfolk, Meyer Chovitz and his wife, Dee Dee, of Virginia Beach; her sister, Janice Legum of Norfolk; and grandchildren, Lori Bekenstein, Amy Strait, Allison and Kevin Held, Rob, Craig, Rick and Marsha Futterman, Barry and Erica Chovitz; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. The family will be at 109 66th Street, Virginia Beach. Memorial contributions may be made c/o Congregation Beth El or Jewish Family Services.
