JONATHAN W. BUCHANAN

Jonathan Winfield ``Buck'' Buchanan, 74, of the 3100 block of Silver Sand Circle, died Feb. 8, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mr. Buchanan, retired state manager with Joseph E. Seagram and Sons, was retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years. He was a native of Leona Mines, Va., and a member of Virginia Beach Power Squadron and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby F. Buchanan; three sons, William L. Buchanan of Raleigh, N.C., Larry A. Buchanan of Natural Bridge, Va., and Richard L. Buchanan of Virginia Beach; his mother, Addie A. Buchanan of Kingsport, Tenn.; four sisters, Ruth Elliott of Kingsport, Christine Crawford of Owensboro, Ky., Frances Hammonds of Noblesville, Ind., and Nell Banks of Bristol, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan and Katherine Dinsmore, both of Raleigh, and Jennifer Anne Buchanan of Natural Bridge.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, by Dr. William M. Shelton. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
