Joan Virginia Seymour Davis, 65, of the 1100 block of Old Clubhouse Road, died Feb. 9, 1996.
She was born Feb. 10, 1930, in South Norfolk. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. Mrs. Davis was retired from employment with the City of Chesapeake in the Social Services Department with 20 years of service. Mrs. Davis was a loving mother and was preceded in death by her mother; a brother; a sister; and her son, Richard Boyd ``Dickie'' Davis who died on Jan. 9, 1996.
Survivors include her father, Harold Osborne Seymour of Coleman, Okla.; her former husband, Richard B. Davis of Creswell, N.C.; a son, Robert B. ``Bobby'' Davis and wife, Diana Carpenter Davis of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Mary Ann Davis Keating and husband, Patrick Keating, of Williamsburg; a brother, William L. Seymour of N. Babylon, N.Y.; and six grandchildren, Jason Davis, Eric Davis, Jillian Davis and Marissa Davis, all of River Rouge, Mich., Christopher B. Davis and Cameron B. Davis, both of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will take place in the Riverside Memorial Cemetery on Indian River Road in South Norfolk. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Benevolence Fund of Salem Baptist Church, 4020 Ware Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23456.
