Charlie Rosevelt Burden, 87, of the 200 block of E. Church St., died Feb. 8, 1996, in Brian Center Health and Retirement Home, Windsor, N.C.
Mr. Burden, a retired superintendent, worked for Planters Peanut Co., Aulander, N.C. He was a native of Bertie County, N.C., and a member of Union Baptist Church, Ahoskie. He was also a member of Roxobel Ruritan Club and Roxobel Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Addie Brinkley Burden of Roxobel, N.C.; two daughters, Peggy Outlaw of Aulander and Janet Cauthern of Roxobel; two sons, Roy Burden of Richmond, Va., and Gene Lee Burden of Warrensburg, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Jeff Bartlett and Mr. Raymond Doughtie. Burial will be in Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery, Roxobel.
