George C. Brown Sr., 84, of the 700 block of Oriole Drive, died Feb. 10, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Brown was a native of Washington, D.C. He worked as a safety and personel director for the Maloney Concrete Co. until his retirement in 1976. He was a duplicate bridge player, was active in the 55 Alive Club and was a charter member of the Potomac Appalacian Trail Club.
Mr. Brown was predeceased by his father, Oliver Perry Morton Brown; his mother, Georgie Krug Brown; his daughter, Joan Louise; his son, George C. Brown Jr.; his beloved wife and mother of his children, Ethel Louise Hulse Brown; and his second wife, Grace Smith Brown.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathleen Geyer-Johnson Brown of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Margaret Osmond of Fredrick, Md.; one son, Gregory E. Brown of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Felicia Boykin of Tampa, Fla., George C. Brown III of Olney, Md., Erik Brown of Rockville, Md., Kathi Buegelar of Austin, Texas, Denise Pusterla of Adamstown, Md., David Osmond of Fredrick, Md., Melanie Osmond of Fredrick, Md.; and five great-grandchildren, Andy Boykin, Alexandra Pusterla, Cassandra Pusterla, Christopher Buegelar, and Sarah Buegelar.
A chapel service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 1996, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Father William V. Sullivan. Burial will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Bladensburg, Md. at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
