CAREER TRACK

ACCOUNTING

Daniel J. Williams was named senior staff accountant and Tonya J. Lawson was named staff accountant at Bresenoff & Associates in Virginia Beach. Williams was formerly with Warner, Armstrong & Jones in South Bend, Ind. Lawson most recently worked at Investment Planning Consultants in Bluefield, W.Va.

Margaret Beyer was named staff accountant at Witt, Mares & Company in Newport News. She received her accounting degree from the University of Baltimore in 1994. Prior to joining the accounting firm, she served in the Navy.

Also, Shannon W. Cook was named senior accountant at Witt, Mares & Co. He previously worked at Beers & Cutler in Washington, D.C.

And, D. Matthew Allen was named staff accountant at the Newport News office. Prior to this, he worked with Dermody, Burke & Brown in Syracuse, N.Y.

ADVERTISING

Richard Gearhart was named director of account services at Ad Ventures Advertising Inc. in Virginia Beach. He will concentrate on servicing accounts in finance, transportation, economic development, retail and municipalities. He is the former president of Raoust & Gearhart Advertising in Hampton.

HEALTH CARE

Ben Jones was named chief information officer of the Children's Health System, the parent company of the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk. He will be responsible for applying new technology to fit the needs of the hospital. He was the former vice president of information services at Mercy Health Systems in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Lisa Lee was promoted from occupational health nurse to occupational health manager for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. She will oversee the wellness program, worker's compensation and regulatory compliance for OSHA. She has been with the hospital since 1988.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Family Law Organization of Greater Hampton Roads elected the following officers for 1996: Winship C. Tower of Kaufman & Canoles, president; and Cheshire I'Anson Eveleigh of Wolcott, Rivers, Wheary, Basnight & Kelly in Virginia Beach, vice president.

David Host of T. Parker Host in Norfolk was elected president of the Hampton Roads Coal Association for 1996-1997. And, C. Daniel Mooza of Hampton Roads Testing Labs, Inc. was elected vice president.

Virginia Beach Vision Inc., a non-profit chief executive officer civic leadership group designed to provide private sector support for initiatives advancing the interests of Virginia Beach, has elected Harry T. Lester of Harry Lester Co. in Virginia Beach as the organization's new president and John Malbon of Papco Oil Co. in Virginia Beach as vice president for this year.

RETIREMENT CARE

Michael K. Hopper was named chief financial officer at Westminster-Canterbury in Virginia Beach. He joined Westminster-Canterbury in 1984. Previously, he served as director of finance for the retirement community.

LAW

James B. Lonergan was elected chief executive officer and president at Pender & Coward in Virginia Beach. Mark E. Slaughter was elected chief financial officer and Charles M. Salle was elected secretary. Lonergan joined the firm in 1979; Slaughter and Salle in 1985.

Mary Keating O'Neill has joined Pender & Coward in Virginia Beach. She will concentrate in family law. Before joining the firm, she was a shareholder with Shuttleworth, Ruloff & Giordano in Virginia Beach. She is also a substitute judge for the General District Courts in the Second Judicial District of Virginia.

Also, Brooke H. Wallace was named client services director for Pender & Coward in Virginia Beach. She was previously the director of client services for Willcox & Savage.

REAL ESTATE

Kevin A. DiBona was named vice president of Divaris Real Estate's investment sales division in Virginia Beach. He has been with the company for three years and was most recently assistant vice president of the investment sales division.

William F. Rountree Jr. was named director of new business development at Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate in Norfolk. Rountree was most recently senior vice president of marketing at NationsBank in Norfolk.
