Gladys Virginia Rosetta Upton, 85, of the 2800 block of Victory Blvd., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the widow of Early Cecil Upton.
Survivors include a daughter, Ella U. Beard of Chesapeake; two sons, Bernard L. Upton of Loretta, Mich., and Forrest Leo Upton of Portsmouth; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Richard H. Holley. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Portsmouth.
