Fenton ``Peter'' Carr Sr., a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was a retired farmer and a former employee of the Birdsong Peanut Co., Suffolk. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Zuni, where he served as a trustee and an elder. He was a charter member of both the Zuni Ruritan Club and Zuni Hunt Club. He was the husband of the late Hazel Parker Carr.
He is survived by one son, Norman Fenton ``Pete'' Carr Jr. and wife, B.J. Carr of Zuni; one grandson, Peter Nathan Carr; one granddaughter, Carrie Lauren Carr; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, at 1 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. John Hartman. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, from 7 to 8:30 this evening and other times at the residence, 25385 River Run Trail, Zuni. Memorial donations may be made to the general fund of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Zuni, Va. 23898.
